From 1991-1993 TCS was unstoppable, with Bigside becoming three-peat champions under the leadership of Head Coach Drew Allen and Defensive Coordinator Tom Langford. More recently, the team won the CISAA title in 2009 and in 2015 finished as CISSA silver medalists.

This exciting facility includes: three gymnasiums (one single and one double gym); a new athletic therapy clinic, staffed full time by two certified athletic therapists; a cardio and resistance training facility; changerooms; storage and classrooms. There is ample opportunity for our football players to train both in and out of season.
Athletes
We expect football players to be strong academically, of high character, and willing to be involved in school life beyond the classroom. Competition
The TCS alpine team competes weekly during the winter season, in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA). The league hosts approximately 10-12 teams with a mix of Level 1 and Level 2 racers. Level 1 racers are those athletes who are new to the sport of alpine racing, while Level 2 racers are athletes who have race training experience or who have represented and competed with racing clubs in the past. The race season consists of five CISAA starts with the opportunity to qualify for Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) competition.
Facilities
TCS has an excellent relationship with our local ski resort, Brimacombe. Racers have access to set training environments and lane space on a regular basis, all of which are set by TCS coaches themselves. The pro shop at the hill, Slopeside, works closely with the team in order to facilitate race equipment and gear needs. A waxing facility on campus provides racers with all the tools needed to ensure that equipment is race ready prior to both training and competition.
Development
Alpine season starts in November, with focused dryland training and on-hill tactical skiing once our local hill opens. Specific and targeted training trips take place prior to the Christmas break. During the winter season, a typical week involves the following:

Above all, we look for hockey players who are strong academically and can handle the rigours of a full hockey schedule and a complete academic program. We also believe that good hockey players are born from good athletes – athletes who can excel in different sports – and all of our players are expected to be contributors on both fall and spring teams.

Winter Training
The opening of the Chauvin Rowing Room in January 2011 marked the start of a formal winter training program to support the spring rowing season. The room itself houses 15 rowing machines and a space for the athletes to complete a series of core based conditioning activities. In addition to using this space, those athletes training in the winter also travel to Trent University to use their indoor rowing tank to simulate “on water” rowing.
Spring Competition
At the junior level, the rowing program strives to provide the opportunity for students to learn basic technical skills, become introduced to racing and take pride in becoming part of a team. As members of the team move to the senior ranks, the focus shifts to a training regimen that has a greater level of intensity with the goal of ultimately experiencing high level competition at our national championships regatta – the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association Championships (CSSRA).

The team training venue is just north of Port Hope on Rice Lake. The program is fortunate to have access to a wide range of high quality equipment from single sculls to eights.
