  • Three TCS students receive Port Hope Civic Awards

Three Senior School students received recognition for their commitment to community service at the 35th annual Municipality of Port Hope Civic Awards, held Thursday, May 4th at the Capitol Theatre.

Civic Awards are presented each spring to honour contributions to our local community in service, arts, athletics, philanthropy, agriculture, inspiration and the environment. Nominations are received and voted on by a municipal committee.

Staff of the Clinton T. Sayers ’80 Service Learning Centre at TCS nominated the following students to receive awards in the “Community Service” category:

  • Amelia M. – Amelia has been a steward, a leader on the Arts Council and in Trinity Students for Social Justice, and served as stage manager for several school plays
  • Mika R. – In addition to being a steward, Mika has taken part in the Island School and Vancouver Island eco-service trips, has been a leader in Trinity Environmental Action Club and a Sustainability Award recipient, and has served as head of Rigby House
  • Emily B. – Emily has been the assistant head of Ketchum House, a member of the Arts Council, a steward and a Sustainability Award recipient

Congratulations to Amelia, Mika and Emily, and to all of the recipients of the 2022 Civic Awards presented by the town.
