  • TCS DECA members enjoy in-person provincial competition

From February 12th to 14th, over 5,500 young business leaders from across Ontario – including 11 Trinity College School students – took over downtown Toronto for three days of fierce competition and professional development at the Ontario DECA Provincials.

DECA encourages young people to develop skills by working on real-world business scenarios and market demands in the areas of marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Ontario is the largest international DECA association and the provincial competition was loaded with award ceremonies, sponsor showcases with a scavenger hunt and draws, and evening entertainment. The return to in-person competition was a welcome one, as students had the opportunity to meet peers from throughout the province.

The TCS DECA Chapter members who qualified to compete at the Ontario DECA Provincials were:

  • Tanay Langhe – Principles of Finance
  • Arjun Sharma – Principles of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Anna Dobrinski and Madison Miller – Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making
  • Terry Wu – Accounting
  • Jun Hong and Connor Rodgers – Financial Services Team Decision Making
  • William Liu and Nicolas Shi – Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making
  • Gabriel Arany-Hoummady and Nicholas Damiani – Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making

Congratulations to all of the students who competed, and a special shout-out to Arjun, who was awarded two medals: one for placing in the top 20 in “Role Play 2” and one for top 15 for “Test.”
