CISAA gold medals, OFSAA qualifications… It’s been a busy few days for Trinity College School athletes, with more exciting competition to come before the end of the school year!

Track & Field: A strong contingent of athletes represented TCS at the Metro Regional Track Championships, held May 23rd-24th at Birchmount Stadium in Scarborough. By the end of the event, four students had earned berths in the OFSAA provincial championships:

  • Abby Richards – 4th in Junior girls 1,500m run
  • Edgar Merepeza – 3rd in Novice boys 100m hurdles
  • Noah Shepherd – 4th in Novice boys 300m hurdles
  • Aidan Small – 4th in Senior boys 400m hurdles

The following top-seven results, while not quite enough to earn spots at OFSAA, are nonetheless very impressive, as they come in a meet that welcomed more than 125 schools and nearly 1,400 athletes:

  • Noah Shepherd – 6th in Novice boys 3,000m run
  • Abby Richards – 5th in Junior girls 3,000m race
  • Jay Turnquest – 5th in Senior boys 400m hurdles
  • Lademi Abiola – 7th in Novice girls triple jump

Congratulations to the whole team on a wonderful season, so far. To follow along with the OFSAA Track & Field Championships, to be held June 6th to 8th in London, visit the championship website.

Rugby: The Littleside boys rugby team hoisted the CISAA championship plaque on Saturday, May 25th, in front of an enthusiastic home crowd – including many alumni on campus for Reunion Weekend. The Bears capped off a perfect season with a 31-14 win over Crescent School. Click here to view photos from the championship game.

Shortly afterwards, the Bigside boys took to the Tim Hay Field to face Appleby College. And while the team fell short in a 12-0 game, the players can be very proud of their silver medals. Click here to view photos from the championship game.

The Bigside XV is also looking forward to participating in the OFSAA A/AA Rugby Championships, set for June 6th to 8th in Stratford. For schedules, results and more, visit the championship website.

Tennis: The mixed doubles team of Serar O. and Roman E. will be representing TCS and the CISAA league at the OFSAA Championships in Toronto,  June 3rd to 5th. Follow the action on the championship website.
