Badminton: Congratulations to the mixed doubles team of Serar O. and Roman E., who have qualified to compete at the OFSAA provincial tennis championships. The duo stamped their ticket at the CISAA qualifying tournament held at the Mayfair Toronto West club on May 9th. The provincial event is scheduled for June 3rd to 5th in Toronto, and you can follow the action at the OFSAA Tennis Championship website.

Soccer: Bigside soccer is headed to the CISAA championship game! The Bears closed out the regular season with a 5-3 win at Appleby on May 11th (with four goals for Lizzie M. and one for Victoria F.) and then hosted Ridley College on May 15th in the semi-final match. It was a close contest, but the Bears’ lone goal from Danica B. held up, and Charlotte C. scored the shutout in a 1-0 win. Bigside will head to De La Salle for the final on May 22nd. Littleside finished up its season with a 5-0 win over St. Anne’s on May 13th. And the Under-14 team split recent games, besting St. Anne’s 3-1 at home on May 13th, but losing a close game, 3-2, to Crestwood a day later on May 14th.

Baseball: The Bears put home field to their advantage last week, posting back-to-back wins. Following a loss to De La Salle on May 1st, the team rebounded on May 6th to beat Bayview Glen, 9-4. Just two days later, the Bears followed this up with a massive 23-4 win over Country Day School. The team wrapped up the regular season with a 15-7 win over Royal St. George’s on May 15th, and now looks forward to the playoff “final four” tournament on May 22nd.

Softball: The Bears kept up their winning ways on the softball diamond, posting back-to-back home wins, including a 10-5 victory over Bishop Strachan School on May 8th, and a 9-7 victory over Havergal College on May 15th. Finishing the season with a perfect 4-0 record, the team is in great shape heading into the CISAA “final four” tournament on May 22nd.

Ultimate Frisbee: The high-flying Bigside ultimate team soared to two wins in a tri-meet at Bayview Glen on May 8th. The Bears beat the host team, 5-4, and then took a second victory over the combined Havergal/Crescent squad, 7-3. The wins put Bigside on top of the standings in their division, at 3-0, with just one regular season match left (hosting De La Salle on May 15th). The team warmed up with an exhibition match against Albert College on May 13th, where the Bears prevailed, 10-3.

Rugby: The Littleside boys had a great outing on May 11th at Appleby, pulling off a 41-20 win. The Bears wrapped up the regular season on May 15th, beating Crescent 27-0, and their strong record has them hosting their semi-final match at TCS on May 22nd. The Bigside boys won a close match at Appleby, 12-10, and followed that up with another win in their last game of the regular season, 28-20 over Crescent on May 15th.
