1972 hockey team reminisces

As part of Reunion Weekend at Trinity College School, alumni from the 1972 Bigside hockey team enjoyed a celebratory lunch commemorating their ISAA (independent school league) co-championship season. This was the last time Bigside hockey won or shared the top-tier league title (other top-tier championship years were 1949, 1955 and 1962).

At the event, which was held Saturday, May 28th in Osler Hall, Captain Geoff Bertram ’72, wearing his original team jersey, spoke on behalf of the team, reminiscing about the 1972 season and what it meant to all of the players.

Special guest, Coach Will Mitchell spoke eloquently about the team, sharing how he approached coaching the group, and sharing his wonderful memories of coaching hockey at TCS and especially his first year with the team in 1972.

Trinity College School (TCS) is a leading boarding and day school for approximately 600 young people from Grades 5-12.
