Prefects beat the “January Blahs” with Spirit Week events

Trinity College School’s prefects hosted a series of fun events to bring some extra cheer to the Senior School during Spirit Week, January 13th to 17th.

The week kicked off on Monday with "Hope for Port Hope" day, which included a display set up in Cirne Commons where students could write about their hopes and their intentions, sharing positive messages and motivation with their peers.

A highlight of the week was Tuesday’s Winter Olympics which took place in the Peter Campbell Memorial Rink. The 10 houses battled one another in exciting and often hilarious competitions on the ice, such as sledding, speed skating, a hockey shootout and pairs figure skating. In the bleachers, students cheered on their housemates throughout the events.

Thursday featured an enthusiastic Just Dance competition in Cirne Commons, with students and staff having an absolute blast showing off their moves!

Throughout the week there were themed non-uniform days, including a sports jersey day and a day where students could wear mismatched or inside out clothing. This culminated on Friday with “Twin Day” where students dressed alike and the best duos or groups earned prizes during morning chapel service.

Thank you to the prefects for organizing these events, which put smiles on the faces of students during what can be a grey and cold time of year!
