House Debates semi-finalists set

The full slate for Trinity College School’s House Debates semi-finals is now set, following an exciting tie-breaking “debate off” held on Monday, February 10th.

In the Junior division, debaters participated in a researched debate on the resolution that “TCS should ban cell phones.” Mackenzie Heid and Bolu Abiola of Rigby House edged out Valeria Fonseca and Emily Brown of Ketchum House. Rigby will now join Hodgetts, Orchard and Wright in the Junior semi-finals.

Senior debaters once again took part in an impromptu debate, on the timely resolution that “Valentine's Day is better than Halloween.” The Hodgetts House duo of Kyle Munns and Jayden Lefebvre was able to overcome a strong Bickle House team of Jack Zhang and Wesley Chan. Hodgetts has stamped its ticket for the Senior semi-finals, along with Rigby, Scott and Wright.

We wish all the competitors best of luck when the Junior and Senior semi-finals take place on Monday, February 24th.
