Ski teams conquer the CISAA slopes

Trinity College School’s alpine skiers are ready to take on the province, following strong results at the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) Championships held February 12th at Devil’s Glen, north of Creemore, Ontario.

Skiers compete in four categories throughout the winter term: “high school trained” girls and boys, and “open” girls and boys. Qualification for the OFSAA provincial championships is based on a combination of the results from the four CISAA meets over the course of the season as well as the league championships.

The School’s high school trained girls and boys both captured team silver medals at the CISAA Championships, while the open boys team earned third place ribbons.

For individual racers, top-six results overall were recognized. These included:

  • Atticus Hodges: 2nd place overall in Under-14 boys
  • Brennon O’Grady: 4th place overall in CISAA open boys
  • Tate Howell: 1st place overall in CISAA high school trained girls
  • Charlie Wadds: 1st place overall in CISAA in high school trained boys

Tate and Charlie were named the overall champions in their respective divisions of CISAA.

Both of the high school trained teams will now head to OFSAA, while individual skier Silas Hodges has stamped his ticket in the open boys category.

The OFSAA Alpine Championships will take place February 24th to 25th at Osler Bluffs Ski Club in the Blue Mountains. To follow the action, visit www.ofsaa.on.ca/alpine-skiing
