Grade 11 students learn about post-secondary options

On Wednesday, February 19th, Trinity College School students were fortunate to have the opportunity to attend a presentation given by Travis Daley from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) admissions department. Travis explained to our students that UNB is not just a university but that it is a community where students are greeted with an abundance of opportunity: hands-on research, co-op and work-study programs, studying abroad, nation-leading athletics and student clubs and societies. This presentation was definitely a great introduction to learning about a specific university for the Grade 11 students in attendance as they are currently beginning to conduct research with regards to their post-secondary options as part of the Grade 11 guidance program.

Over the course of the year, TCS has welcomed representatives from more than 40 different post-secondary institutions in Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and Australia to speak with students, including at our two fall post-secondary fairs. As well, our Grade 12 students travelled to select Ontario schools in October, and our Grade 11 students will do so on Thursday, April 2nd.

Families are always encouraged to contact post-secondary institutions of interest to students to arrange their own campus visit. Campus visits provide a great lens through which to determine which school is the best fit for each individual student.
