Trinity College School’s swimmers put a cap on a terrific season, bringing home a trove of medals from the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Championships, held March 3rd and 4th at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. And after two days of competition, the TCS Junior girls team walked away as OFSAA champions!
The medal haul began on day one of competition, with the Junior girls 200m medley relay team of Nadia Simmonds, Olivia Girimonte, Carmella Ylagan and Mika Romao Vandepol capturing gold and setting a new OFSAA record with a time of 2:13.17. Nadia added a silver medal to her collection in the Junior girls 50m backstroke, and Olivia won bronze in the Junior girls 50m breaststroke.
On day two of competition, the Bears’ winning ways continued. Carmella surged past the competition to claim gold in the Junior girls 50m butterfly, while Mika earned bronze in the Junior girls 100m freestyle. And Leah Chesney wrapped up a long and successful high school swimming career by capturing bronze in the Senior girls 100m freestyle race.

- Fiona Shearing – 5th in Senior girls 200m freestyle
- Carmella Ylagan – 5th in Junior girls 100m individual medley
- Nadia Simmonds – 6th in Junior girls 50m freestyle
- Kit Cheung – 6th in Senior boys 100m freestyle, 7th in Senior boys 200m freestyle
- Mika Romao Vandepol – 7th in Junior girls 50m freestyle
- Morad Aref – 7th in Junior boys 50m breaststroke; 15th in Junior boys 50m freestyle
- Leah Chesney – 10th in Senior girls 50m freestyle
- Lindsay Smith – 10th in Senior girls 50 m backstroke; 14th in Senior girls 200m freestyle
- Olivia Girimonte – 10th in Junior girls 100m individual medley
- Allie Riihiluoma – 15th in Senior girls 100m freestyle
