Parent meet & greets build global connections

Trinity College School parents around the world and here in Ontario had the chance to build connections through a series of online socials hosted by the TCS Parents’ Guild. Six virtual meet and greet events were held via Zoom between October 14th and November 6th; these smaller groups allowed for fun and friendly chats, and provided guests with the opportunity to introduce themselves to other parents in their region.

A range of topics were discussed by parents, from their feelings about the wellbeing of their children to guild initiatives planned to increase student and parent engagement. Overall, there was a sense of happiness expressed by parents about how the school year has begun, with parents saying they felt their children were in a safe and healthy environment. Parents learned about the upcoming Christmas treat fundraiser (similar to the guild’s recent Halloween treat initiative), and there was also discussion of potential virtual parent socials in the future, built around themes such as: wreath-making, mixology lessons, a sommelier lesson, book club, or socials organized by student house.

Thanks go to TCS Parents’ Guild executive members Nancy Sanderson P’20 ’22, Nadia Viznyak P’24 ’26, Jeanette Lane P’18 ’20 ’22 and Lisa Bailey P’21 ’23 ’24 for joining in the meet and greets.

It was clear that parents enjoyed the chance to connect with one another and are looking forward to the time when we can one day socialize in person again!
