In the lead-up to the holiday break, the Trinity College School campus came alive with the sights and sounds of the Christmas season. The TCS Parents’ Guild helped to brighten the School as a small crew of volunteers, along with members of the property department, decked the halls with festive decorations, including poinsettias donated by families (click here for a full list of donors). The guild also passed out pre-ordered holiday treats to students and staff, and distributed staff gifts purchased by appreciative families through the guild’s fundraising programs.
In the Senior School, events that helped everyone get in the festive spirit included the house door decorating contest, the Instagram “Countdown to Christmas” mask-decorating challenge, prefect-run “Themed Thursdays,” the return of our Elf on the Shelf to the library, and Christmas decorations crafted from natural items by the arts & crafts group.
In the Junior School, a homeform door decorating contest, skating parties for each grade cohort, and a fun scavenger hunt organized by the prefects were among the ways our youngest students prepared for the upcoming holiday. And, on December 9th, the Grade 5/6 classes had a surprise visit from “Santa Grainger” who whisked them off to the Dick and Jane LeVan Theatre for a screening of the film Home Alone.
