University basketball star shares insights on achievement

Trinity College School’s basketball players had the chance to learn from a local success story as they took part in a virtual presentation by former university standout Owen White, on Monday, January 11th.

Raised in Port Hope, Mr. White attended local Port Hope High School before heading to Brock University. There, he led the Badgers to the 2008 CIS National Championship, earning the Jack Donohue Trophy as the tournament’s most valuable player. Today, he lives in China where he works as a teacher and athletic director.

Mr. White shared his journey from a small town to becoming a star at the university level. He delivered an impactful message that focused on setting goals and developing a work ethic, as well as the importance of academic achievement.

The TCS basketball program is thankful to Owen for giving up his personal time to share his experiences with the players.
