Black History Month a time to honour Black voices and achievements

February marks Black History Month, a time to celebrate and honour Black voices, place a spotlight on the accomplishments of Black leaders, and show support for all those who are paving the way for a better future – a future that values diversity, equity and inclusion.

The morning of Monday, January 31st, during the weekly Bear Essentials virtual assembly, members of the Black Student Alliance (BSA) kicked off Black History Month at TCS, asking students to watch for and participate in initiatives throughout February.

In the Junior School, members of Allies Against Racism (AAR) hosted a special clothing day with t-shirts, hoodies and wristbands from their recent “Hate Has No Home Here” fundraiser. The group also presented a video to introduce their plans for the month in the Junior School.

Stay tuned for further initiatives throughout the month of February!
