As a result of a very strong showing at the qualifying tournament hosted by Trinity College School on April 27th, five TCS athletes earned a spot to compete at the OFSAA Badminton Championships, hosted by Pain Court in the Chatham-Kent area of southwestern Ontario from May 5th through May 7th.
Silas Hodges and Kristie Lam earned the top CISAA mixed-doubles berth, complemented by the team of Linda Qiao and Eason Chen. Representing the high school trained men’s singles group, Robin Xu worked through this challenging bracket. Robin battled to a solid finish in the second round of the C consolation bracket. Eason and Linda showed great poise and strong technique, working their way to a position in the A consolation semi-final match.
Kristie and Silas played a keen partnership game. Their collaborative and tactical mixed-doubles game took them all the way to the B championship game where they earned a silver medal.
Coaches Kristen Chen, Leigh Hewitt and Greg Hodges are proud of the efforts made by these athletes and the way that they have represented our school.
