Halloween is a boo-tiful celebration!

Trinity College School students and staff were ready to bust some ghosts and ghouls as they enthusiastically participated in the annual Halloween celebrations at the School in recent days!

The celebration actually began a week before the “big day” with the Phantom of the Handbell concert on October 24th (click here to read more). And, the evening of Friday, October 28th, the prefects hosted a fun Halloween Social in Cirne Commons, with treats and games, as well as some dancing.

But as Monday morning dawned, the monsters truly came out to play. Our Senior School students gathered – dressed in all their regalia – for chapel service. There were contests in a variety of costume categories, as well as a house jack-o-lantern competition. And a group of staff treated students to a TikTok inspired performance to the theme of Ghostbusters!

Over at the Junior School, it was a day of excitement, including a special assembly with a costume contest. As well, the Grade 5 students tricked-and-treated their way around campus, to the delight of staff in various departments.

This year, many costumes were inspired by favourite films, television shows and video games, and a few folks were particularly clever (we see you, “Allen Key” and “Phillips Head Screwdriver”!). Food was once again a favourite theme, with Junior School costumes running the gamut from Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to a "couch potato" surrounded by snacks.

In the evening, 19 student volunteers braved the inclement weather, and headed into the neighbourhood, going door-to-door to collect donations, in lieu of treats, for our local Fare Share food bank. Our neighbours were once again very generous, allowing students to collect five shopping carts full of non-perishable goods. Combined with donations brought in by students and staff during the day, the School was able to make a sizable donation to support local families in need. Thank you to Grade 12 student Amelia Maggi and the Trinity Students for Social Justice for organizing this donation drive.
