Opening Week 2023: Activity abounds on day two
  • Group of five students

The busyness of the new school year continued on Wednesday, September 6th, as Trinity College School continued to welcome Senior School students to campus, and the halls of Boulden House came alive with the first day of Junior School classes.

Our Grade 5 through 8 students were ushered into the academic year by an eager faculty and staff. “There has been a lot of activity in and around Boulden House this summer as we prepare for our new school year,” reflected Head of Junior School Jennifer Reid. “Junior School faculty and staff are excited to welcome students back onto campus and into their classrooms. Students can expect a year of individualized growth surrounded by caring adults, engaging curriculum, and an abundant co-curricular program filled with athletic, artistic and service-learning options. We can’t wait to begin!”

Opening day at the Junior School included the chance for all students to meet their homeform teachers and new classmates, have some fun at recess and enjoy their first lunch in Osler Hall.

Things were equally exciting in the Senior School, where returning Grade 10 and 11 boarders moved back into their dorm rooms, and our new day families took part in orientation activities. New students and their parents started the day in the Dick & Jane LeVan Theatre, where they were greeted by members of the admissions team and educational staff leaders. This was followed by a meeting with their respective day heads of house, and then families were joined by their “buddy” (a senior student who will help each new student in their early days at TCS) and headed off for a tour of campus and meeting with their advisor.

Many returning day students were also on campus on Wednesday, taking part in house-based activities in the afternoon.

The entire school community is eagerly awaiting Thursday, September 7th, when our final group of students – our new boarders – will join us on campus!
