The winter athletics season has officially come to a close, and Trinity College School’s student-athletes and coaches are looking back on a term of skill development, team-building and friendship. As well, some teams are reporting great final results to wrap up the season!

Hockey: Congratulations to the Middleside boys hockey team, who won the bronze medal in the DII Senior division of CISAA. The team travelled to Pickering College on February 28th, where they faced the host team in the semi-finals. Pickering dominated the standings this year, and overpowered TCS in the game. But the Bears were undaunted, and took the ice with determination in the bronze medal game against St. John’s-Kilmarnock. It was an exciting match, with both teams scoring in the second period to carry a 1-1 draw into the third. TCS goalie Jake Lee stood on his head, making 43 saves to keep the game close. In the end, Mason Sun, who had scored the Bears’ first goal, came through with the decider to give TCS the win!

Basketball: The Under-14 boys basketball team ran the table in the CISAA league this year, going undefeated to earn the right to host the championship tournament on Tuesday, February 27th. The Bears kept up their winning ways in the semi-final, besting Crestwood Prep, 64-22 to set up a final against St. John’s-Kilmarnock, the second-place team in the league. Once again, the Bears could not be stopped, winning CISAA gold with a final score of 65-50. Read more about the U-14 basketball team’s incredible season.

Volleyball: The Under-14 girls volleyball team was very proud to earn a spot in the CISAA “Final Four” Championship tournament, held in “The Hangar” at Downsview Park on February 27th. While the Bears lost both of their games, they were pleased to narrow the gap, including strong play against the top school in the league. Read more about the U-14 volleyball final tournament.

Swimming: The Junior School swim team capped off a great season with multiple top-six ribbons and medals at the CISAA Championships, held February 27th at Markham Pan Am Centre. This included three individual medals and six relay team medals, of which three were gold. Read the full results and reflections from the team captains.
