Jazz@4, Trinity College School’s jazz band, had the chance to collaborate with peers from Upper Canada College during a large group rehearsal on Friday, January 26th.
Our student-musicians listened to and joined along with the UCC senior jazz band, one of three jazz bands at the school and an ensemble with a long history of excellence.
For much of the rehearsal, the TCS and UCC group members were intermingled. Instantly, there were great discussions between the students while they were meeting each other, which was gratifying to see.
Members of Jazz @4 enjoyed the experience and are eager to do it again. We plan on making this a yearly event with UCC, and look forward to organizing events like this with other ensembles.
Our students came away from the experience happy, and further energized about the future of the TCS jazz band!
