As the fall sports season ramps up in the CISAA league, Trinity College School teams are vying for position heading into next week’s playoffs and championships.

Field Hockey: Bigside field hockey earned a 4-0 win over Bishop Strachan on October 18th, before posting a 1-1 draw with De La Salle on October 23rd. Middleside DIII posted a win over Albert College, 3-0, on October 18th, while Littleside lost two close games, 0-1 against Lakefield and 0-2 versus Toronto Montessori. Both Middleside teams were in action on October 25th, with DII beating Bishop Strachan 2-0, while DIII lost to Rosseau Lake, 0-2.  The teams now head into the playoffs, starting this Friday, October 27th with Bigside in action at home against Branksome.

Soccer: Middleside soccer suffered two late season losses, 0-1 to St. John’s-Kilmarnock (October 18th) and 0-2 at Albert College (October 24th), but the team currently sits tied for third place in the league heading into the playoffs. Littleside posted a whopping 8-3 win over Crestwood Prep on October 18th, followed up with a close 3-2 victory at home over St. Mike’s on Monday and then, on Wednesday, won their final league game 2-1 over Crescent. Bigside lost to Crestwood, 2-1, on Monday and finished the season with a 1-1 draw with Crescent on October 25th. Soccer playoffs begin next week, starting with Monday home games for Middleside (versus LCS) and Littleside (versus UCC).

Basketball: Bigside continued its winning ways with a 36-30 victory over Havergal on October 18th, and a 44-38 win over Crestwood Prep on October 25th. Bigside has two more league games remaining before heading into the playoffs next week, while Littleside begins its playoffs on Monday at Havergal.

Football: While it’s been a tough season for the Bigside football team, there have been glimmers of great play, including a strong effort in a close loss to UCC at Bear Fair. The team will take part in an exhibition game on October 27th against Football North, in preparation for their playoff match at SAC next Wednesday, November 1st. Littleside has had a good showing in its games this year, and looks to continue its winning streak in its final game against Norwood DHS, at home, on Hallowe’en.
