AP Capstone students demonstrate critical thinking, communication and collaboration
  • AP Capstone students demonstrate critical thinking, communication and collaboration

Nineteen determined Trinity College School students saw months of effort come to fruition as they presented their research study results during the annual AP Capstone Showcase, held April 24th and 25th in the Gibson Room of the Senior School library (as well as via a Zoom webinar).

Back in September, the students began their work in the Advanced Placement (AP) Research course – the second year core course of the two-year AP Capstone program – by determining a research question from which to start their in-depth study. Students were challenged to devise and implement an appropriate inquiry methodology, and their work culminated in a 5,000 word research paper, as well as a public presentation and oral defense of their research.

This year’s topics were broad in range, with each one reflecting an area of interest for the student undertaking this rigorous study. Throughout their research and presentations, students exemplified the critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills at the heart of the AP Capstone program and our own TCS academic program.
