Bigside Girls Rugby: The Bigside rugby sevens team hosted the CISAA Championships at TCS on Wednesday, May 25th. The team played four tough games, starting the day with a big win over Country Day School, 31-5. In its second game, the team bested Appleby College 37-0. Filled with confidence, Bigside took on Hillfield, the reigning CISAA champions for the past five years. TCS was dominant in a 44-5 win to put the team into the final versus Havergal. Capping off an undefeated season, the Bears took the CISAA title with a decisive 37-17 win in front of a thrilled home crowd! Sharing news of their success in chapel, Bigside captains Natasha Deichmann, Malinka Kwemo and Emma Olazabal Salgado said: “From girls who have played for multiple years to girls whose first season this was – and after not having a season for two years – we played amazing as a team and we are very proud of everyone. Thank you to the coaches and all the supporters (at CISAA). To the grads, we will miss you next year; but we look forward to another amazing season!” Click here to view photos from the championship.
