Bell ringers recognized in chapel

Nearly 30 Trinity College School students were recognized this week for leading live music in the chapel. Bell ties and pins, generously donated by the TCS Parents’ Guild, were awarded to this active crew of students who have already performed nearly a dozen times this new school year.

With the return of multiple houses in chapel, a sufficient number of ringers has been available to cover a variety of popular TCS hymns and chapel songs at weekday chapels as well as our Sunday boarders’ chapels.

Returning ringers (given a bell tie and a multi-bell pin) have led the way, joined by a large number of eager new recruits. All ringers have had to nimbly learn new music (at sight!), as well as step forward repeatedly to move bell tables and cases.

Monday, October 25th, 6:15 p.m. – The Memorial Chapel
A highlight this month will be the return of a 30-minute Halloween-themed bell concert. While the campus continues to be closed to visitors, on-campus members of the community (staff and students) will be able to enjoy the Johnson Ringers, our senior bell ensemble, in tunes such as Phantom of the Opera, Ghostbusters, Titanic and others. Talented Grade 10 student Eric Jin will also play a suitably-lugubrious prelude by Frederic Chopin on the piano. The concert will be recorded, and a link will be shared in next week’s Parents’ Newsletter.
