Eight athletes earn Distinction in the winter term of athletics

Trinity College School celebrated leadership, dedication and achievement by our Senior School students in the winter term of competitive sports with an online viewing of the Winter Athletic Awards. Necessitating a different awards ceremony format than in the past, it allowed the school community to look back on a very successful sports season that saw our Junior girls swim team capture the CISAA league title, while CISAA silver was earned by the Bigside and Littleside boys squash teams, and the Bigside and Littleside boys basketball teams. The season culminated in both our swim and alpine ski teams earning multiple podium finishes – including gold – at the OFSAA provincial championships!

The video celebration was hosted by Director of Athletics Tim White, and featured our winter term coaches presenting a host of awards. This was capped off with the presentation of eight Distinction awards, recognizing athletes for their superior level of performance as well as for serving as leading ambassadors of TCS through their sports involvement. Earning Distinction were the following Grade 12 students: Sal Bertucci (hockey), Josh Nadler (hockey), Tate Howell (alpine), Charlie Wadds (alpine), Libby Howatt (hockey), David Pitcairn (squash), Jade Pitcairn (squash) and Charlie Riker (squash).

Headmaster Stuart Grainger stepped in front of the camera to present Bigside ties (recognizing the completion of a student’s third season on a Bigside team during his or her career at TCS) to 13 athletes: Isolde Ardies, Chloe Chiang, Tolu Fadeyi, Aidan Gibson, Edward Lancaster, Fiona Miller, Sydney Mueller, Shannon O’Grady, Brennon O’Grady, Jade Pitcairn, Henry Sewing, Jayda Simmonds and Katrina Wang.
