The Peter N. Thomson Family Bursary celebrates the deep connection between the late Peter Nesbitt Thomson and his adopted home in the Bahamas. Established in 2019 by his step-son and wife Andrew & Julie Raeden, the bursary is awarded to a promising student from the Bahamas, who is seeking to join Trinity College School for their boarding experience starting in Grade 9.
Eligibility
The applicant must fulfill all of the following criteria to be considered for this program.
- Apply as a new boarding student
- Be a resident of the Bahamas
- Have a demonstrated financial need
- Preference is given to students entering Grade 9
Award Details
The scholarship is merit-based and includes full tuition for the duration of the recipients’ studies in the boarding school program at Trinity College School. If the financial need is demonstrated, the awards committee may consider a stipend over and above tuition to assist with other school-related expenses.

Criteria
The recipient of the Peter N. Thomson Family Bursary must have strong academic and leadership potential, and the desire to become engaged in all aspects of the TCS community. Preference will be given to students who also have demonstrated financial need as determined by completing the FAST Financial Assistance Application.
Requirements for Application
- Complete the regular application process for Trinity College School.
- Write a letter or essay stating why the applicant feels they are a good candidate and would be a worthy recipient of this bursary (limit of 500 words).
This scholarship is given at the discretion of the TCS awards committee. The selection of a recipient is not based solely on academic achievement but also focuses on a candidate’s perceived ability to contribute to the School community. Awards will be renewed annually so long as the candidate is living up to the expectations of the School.
