  • Girls rugby goes undefeated in Cayman tour

Trinity College School’s Bigside girls rugby team went on the first international girls rugby tour to Cayman Islands over the Easter Break. The tournament wrapped up on Monday, April 10th, with the Bears going undefeated against the Cayman Under-18 women’s rugby club.

Here are the highlights from each game (T=try; +C=conversion):

Rugby sevens games

26-7 TCS win – scorers: Jasmine de Pencier (1T), Malinka Kwemo (2T +3C), Anna Tenngren (1T)

25-5 TCS win – scorers: Olivia Dagher (1T), Jasmine de Pencier (1T), Sarah Fagan (1T), Malinka Kwemo (2T),

17-14 TCS win – scorers: Christy Boswell (1T), Malinka Kwemo (+1C), Sophie O’Hea (2T)

Rugby tens game

22-10 TCS win – scorers: Olivia Dagher (2T), Jasmine de Pencier (1T), Malinka Kwemo (1T +1C)

The team was also able to enjoy a nice outing to Stingray City and Starfish Point where the girls swam with stingrays and starfish, and ended the day with a game of rugby in the water.

Overall, we had a wonderful weekend in Cayman and a promising start to our season.
