Be part of history in the re-making of Bickle House!

Boarding at TCS is a unique experience that promotes independence, common experience, friendship and trust. As an alumnus of Bickle House, one of the legendary and arguably the best residential house on campus, this adds another layer of camaraderie and history that you are part of.

Like generations of students before and after, you grew up in the halls and dorm rooms of Bickle as much as you did in the classrooms, on stage and on the playing fields. These walls hold many memories, and continue to house young individuals of character and potential.

Your beloved Bickle House was built 65 years ago, and is now in need of updates. A lot of work has already been done to replace the heating, water, fire prevention and security systems that run the building, but now we are looking towards improving areas that will directly affect student comfort, including new and expanded washrooms on all floors. Work will be completed in 2023, with a project budget of $1.5 million. This project is a commitment to preserving our history and traditions for future generations to enjoy.

As Head of House, I am fortunate enough to follow in the footsteps of greats like John Burns (1967-80), Peter Hill (1980-85), Richard Honey (1985-91), Les Robling (1991-98), Drew Allen (1998-2012) and Courtney Christ ’95 (2012-19). The stewardship of Bickle House is a responsibility I take very seriously. Please join me in this stewardship and make your gift to the Friends of Bickle House fund today.
