A beloved Canadian classic, Salt-Water Moon is the story of two former sweethearts, Jacob and Mary, who try to reconcile their differences on a moonlit night in 1926 Newfoundland. Winner of the 1985 Canadian Authors Association Literary Award for Drama, the Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding new play and the Hollywood Drama-Logue Critics’ Award, the play was a finalist for the Governor-General’s Award for Drama. Salt-Water Moon is part of French’s “Mercer family trilogy,” which was inspired by his own experience of moving from Newfoundland to Toronto as a child.

The Globe and Mail describes Salt-Water Moon as, “A gem of a play, an old-fashioned love song that is affecting, funny and evocative as a dream.” We invite you to join us for an evening of wonderful Canadian theatre.
