Sports Update: Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey

Playoffs begin for most of competitive athletic programs in the CISAA league next week, and our Trinity College School Bears are ready to roar! Check out some recent results…

Basketball: Littleside participated in the 56-team Peterborough Kawartha Classic Basketball Tournament on February 9th and 10th. Click here to read all about their experience! Middleside put it all on the court in its game against Country Day School on February 12th, notching a 62-36 victory. That same day, Littleside got the best of Hillfield Strathallan, 45-29. The Under-14 Bears wrapped up their undefeated regular season with a 53-17 win over Bayview Glen on February 13th, and look forward to hosting the CISAA “final four” playoffs on February 27th.

Volleyball: Bigside posted a strong win over Ridley College on February 9th, 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-14). Likewise, Middleside swept its match against York School, 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-16) on February 7th. And Littleside kept the streak alive with a three-set win over St. Clements (25-10, 26-24, 25-13) on February 12th. The Under-14 team lost a nail-biter to Greenwood at home on February 13th, with the two teams trading sets before Greenwood was able to win the decider, 25-23. The U-14 Bears welcome Greenwood back to TCS on February 20th to kick off the playoffs, with both teams aiming for a spot in the CISAA “final four” on February 27th.

Hockey: The Bigside girls team posted a win over Greenwood on February 12th, 5-3, at home. That same day, the Bigside boys hosted Royal St. George’s for an exciting game. The Bears went down two goals in the first period but battled back to make it a close game, coming up just short in a 3-4 decision. The CISAA Bigside girls hockey championships will take place at TCS on February 21st. The Bigside boys look forward to a trip to Montreal where they will cap off their season with some exhibition matches against local independent schools, February 23rd and 24th.
