Trinity College School is proud to present Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs the evenings of November 22nd, 23rd and 24th at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:45 p.m.) in the Dick and Jane LeVan Theatre. Cast and crew are hard at work preparing for the annual fall play, and they are so excited to share this beloved story with you.

The first play in Simon’s “Eugene trilogy,” Brighton Beach Memoirs is the coming-of-age story of Eugene Jerome, a young Jewish man growing up in 1930s Brooklyn with his close-knit family. The semi-autobiographical tale is filled with humour and family drama, set against the backdrop of a country coming out of the Great Depression and entering World War II.

Debuting on Broadway in 1983, Brighton Beach Memoirs ran for over three years and went on to win the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play and two Tony Awards (best actor and best direction). It was subsequently made into a film in 1986, and was followed by two further plays about Eugene Jerome: Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound.
